New Website 2018

Finally I got around to creating my first website which will be my portfolio page and contact page for illustration and fine art work....and...I will include a shop for my prints. It is currently being finalised but will let you know when it's up and running.
I have used in my logo a little character I'd like to use in one of my books I'm currently working on. It's a little character made up of found bits of toys and gadgets. This little character draws a a line wherever he goes so he can see where he's been. I don't have a name for him yet but stay tuned.

Sydney Royal Easter Show 2018

These are my entries in the Sydney Royal Easter Show 2018 Art & Craft Exhibition. I am so lucky to be awarded 2nd Prize in the Digital Vector Art Section this year. I have entered this 'cat'egory 4 years in a row and the section is only 4 yrs old. I have won a prize each year. 2015-3rd, 2016-3rd, 2017-1st and 2018-2nd! I have 3 other paintings hanging in the show. A cow painting in the rural Section titled 'Make A Wish' acrylic/tea stain on pine, 'Rockpool Treasures' acrylic on canvas board in the Marine section and 'The Changeroom' acrylic/ink on birchwood panel in the figurative section. This last painting was a finalist in the Hunters Hill Art Prize last year after the first time I ever entered. I hope someone loves them enough to take them home. If you go to the Easter Show in Sydney you must wander around the beautiful creative works in the Arts & Crafts hall and maybe purchase a piece of art to take into your home to make you smile.

Recent Fine Art

So proud and excited in winning 3rd prize at the 2016 Sydney Royal Easter Show Art Show for the second year in a row in the Digital Art Section with my artwork titled 'Lilya' (above) which was drawn using my iPad and the Procreate drawing app.

This artwork titled 'On A Day Like This' was SOLD at the Sydney Royal Easter Show 2016 Art Show in the rural landscape section. There are certainly a great number of people who are lovers of cows let me tell you. This artwork was painted using acrylic paint and ink on a piece of pine board. I just love the wood grain in some of these pieces which added to the rustic feel of the piece. I sold a cow painting last year in this same section and both paintings of cows include an egret sitting on the back of the cow. Love these little birds who you see keeping cows company often, not far from where I live in the rural part of the Central Coast NSW.

These two paintings of mine, although completely different in technique, were entered in the art society's winter exhibition of which I am a member of. These are painted on 41x50cm birchwood panels.
Both are still For Sale.
'THE WARDROBE' top of these two paintings was painted using tea, acrylic paint and ink with a little carving out the birchwood here and there.
'THE CHANGEROOM' (left) is a play on my visions of looking at gum trees as they shed their bark. Sometimes you can just see human forms as the light plays on the smooth trunks of the trees.
This is painted with acrylic paint and ink.

This painting was hung in the exhibition held in October this year.
Titled 'THE UNDRESSING' it is another play on my visions of the beautiful human like forms of the gum trees with their peeling bark. Painted on pine board and accentuating wood grain using tea. The trees are painted with acrylic paint using a metal spatula. Twigs and black ink created shadow areas and defined shape. FOR SALE

5 LANDS ART SHOW 2016 Avoca Beach NSW
This painting is a very different style I experimented with using acrylic paint on canvas. Based on visions of reflections at Terrigal rock pools.

My entry in this exhibition painted on 40 x 51cm birchwood panel.
Titled 'DANCING MANGROVES' painted using fibres, tea, acrylic paint and ink. Loads of rich textured layers that's just fabulous to touch.

Catdezign now on ETSY

Well.....I now have an ETSY shop which you can find some of my original cat creations. I have had my first sale and am excited to have SOLD a mug with one of my cat designs which has found its new home in USA.
Here is a link to my shop if you are curious to peek!
I opened my Catdezign shop in April this year and will add new cat products soon. Cards, prints and more designs are being produced so I can have a great little shop for those who love a little feline design in their life.
All these designs are created on my iPad using Procreate App which is fun to use. So good I can create anywhere. No paint to clean up creating on my iPad. Love that.

I also have my 'Love Cats' colouring book there for you to purchase including single pages to instantly download.

Galley On Masons Cafe, Gosford Mural

A design for the Galley On Masons Cafe and Restaurant Gosford, Central Coast, NSW was requested by the owners and after a few idea discussions this design was approved.
A few intricate design elements made this mural a unique one. The client wanted a moroccan tile element and I also brought a few local elements of the Central Coast NSW in to make this an interesting artwork. I made up a palm tree stencil to reflect the beautiful palms around the Gosford waterfront, added local flannel flower design then added a snail to compliment and idea of slowing the pace down a little while you're in the cafe enjoying the fine food and coffee.
I brought a little more old worldly moroccan tile effect into the curving panels and some fish scales to finish the colourful movement of the mural.

A local NBN television crew just happened to be filming arts, cultural and interesting sites around Gosford and so wanted to capture me actually painting the mural on the cafe wall which was fun.

So happy with the finished mural. It's busy, fun, colourful and is certainly very interesting and striking from the outside of the cafe. Hope it brings the owners and patrons years of fantastic compliments.
If you happen to find yourself on the Central Coast needing some great food and coffee, drop in and say 'Hi' at Galley On Masons, Masons Parade, Gosford NSW Australia.

Catdezign 'Love Cats' Colouring Book

So excited to have launched my 'Love Cats' Colouring In Book in September 2015 based on my Digital Cat art. The response was truly amazing so I decided to produce a second addition, printed just before Christmas 2015, with an extra cat design included.
These designs are all hand drawn by me at a time where there are so many colouring books out there and very few related to cats in particular.
I have SOLD quite a few this time round and will look at setting up my Etsy shop in the near future. If you do want to buy a copy you can find me, catdezign, on facebook where you can contact me there.

I have been asked to support the 'SocialCatwork' and I have 2 of my cat art designs in their own digital download cat colouring in book with 21 pages to colour designed by artists all around the world.
Here's the link if you would like to support this great cause...

2015 - 5 Lands Walk, Central Coast NSW Australia

I have exhibited my photography in the 5 Lands Walk photography exhibition at MacMasters Beach Surf Club for a few years now and am always intrigued by the amazing images many people capture of this beautiful area of the Central Coast from MacMasters Beach right up to Terrigal Beach.
I also exhibited 2 paintings in the 5 Lands Walk art exhibition. My artwork was hanging in Avoca Surf Club and lucky for me my Wave painting (shown above) with the gold highlights SOLD which is always a great feeling for an artist.
